The "Ignis" hybrid motor project has reached a critical milestone. Last Tuesday, we conducted our third full-duration static fire test at the Mojave test site. The results were nothing short of spectacular.
Performance Metrics
The motor utilized a custom paraffin-based fuel grain and liquid nitrous oxide as the oxidizer. Peak thrust was measured at 4,200 Newtons, with a total impulse of 85,000 N-s. This represents a 15% increase over our previous iteration.
"The stability of the combustion chamber pressure was the most impressive part of this test. We saw less than 2% fluctuation throughout the 12-second burn."
Next Steps
With the static fire data validated, we are now moving into the integration phase. The Ignis motor will be the primary propulsion system for Project Inferno, scheduled for launch in late October. Our focus now shifts to the oxidizer feed system and the electronic ignition sequence.
